Vintage Breitling Super Ocean 2005

Available for sale is an original 1960s Breitling Super Ocean reference 2005. It is a special mechanism not found in other models, and the hand that looks like the second hand is an integrator. Normally, it is fixed at 12 o’clock, and when you press the pusher at 2 o’clock, the totalizer starts to move. Since it is a 60-minute counter, it is difficult to understand the movement, but it is the window above 6 o’clock that informs it. Normally it is black, but when it starts, it changes to full night light. In the stopped state, it changes to a small circular luminous light only in the center. Then, press the reset button at 4 o’clock to return to black. It is interesting because it is a model that specializes in the divers function that measures the dive time. One thing to note is that many of these vintage Super Ocean dials have not stood the test of time, often with horrible aging, this particular one is very eye pleasing and looks incredible on the wrist.

Case: 42 mm stainless steel case in previously worn condition though in nice overall condition given its age with no major distractions

Bezel: Factory black Breitling bezel in previously worn condition with some scuffs though nothing distracting or major. The bezel turns freely, it was not reset at the 12 o’clock position though rotates back to the 12 o’clock perfectly 

Dial/Hands: Original black Breitling dial in attractive condition, the dial is completely original and is not refinished and has not been touched up in any way. Hands are in attractive condition as well. The white outer ring it showing a little age.

Movement: Original Venus 188 Manual wind movement, it is currently functioning well and running -35 seconds per day

Bracelet/Strap: Black leather in brand new condition

Crystal: Free from any marks or scuffs  

Top Aspect to own this watch: An original 1960s Super Ocean in stunning and all original condition. Does not get much cooler than this for a 1960s Breitling!
