Every once in a while you come across something super special. At first glance it might be difficult to decipher though it has some incredible early Canadian mining history behind it. Alex Mosher was a prominent figure in the Canadian mining industry for many decades. Featured in the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame Alex Mosher was a life long prospector. According to the Mining Hall of Fame Alex Mosher was active in the cobalt area in the late 1920’s to around 1930/1931. This bar was most likely either a presentation piece, something given to executives / board members within the company or even could have also been commissioned by Alex Mosher himself. We did learn from the estate that it was used as a pocket piece by Alex Mosher, they stated ‘they often observed him carrying it around’. Unfortunately we are unable to substantiate that though based on the soft lights edged / lightly fading text it appears to be correct.
This is a neat opportunity to acquire a historically important and unique mining bar. It is unique as you will be the only one with it in your collection!
