Available for sale is a Rolex Explorer two tone in stunning condition. The honey comb dial is completely original and has turned a nice tropical patina, it is far nicer in person than the photos. The dial has completely original and untouched. This a piece of Rolex history which will surely stand out on the wrist! It has a large 36mm size which is uncommon for this era. It is a reference 6298, serial 1720xx dating this watch to 1954.

THE DETAILS

  • Case: 36 mm stainless steel case which shows signs of previous honest wear. No major distractions. We chose not to polish it in order to keep it as original as possible
  • Bezel: Original Rolex solid yellow gold bezel which shows signs of previous honest wear. No major distractions. We chose not to polish it in order to keep it as original as possible
  • Dial/Hands: Original honey comb dial which has turned a stunning tropical shade, it is absolutely stunning in hand. The dial is completely original and not touched up in any way. Hands are as attractive and original.
  • Caseback: Correctly marked 6350 18 6298. The 6350 has been crossed out and re-engraved 6298. It is also dated 1.54 dating this watch to the first quarter of 1954.
  • Movement: Rolex automatic movement. It has been serviced and currently running a 1 seconds per day.
  • Bracelet/Strap: Custom WristWatchMe leather band, this is a high quality leather which costs us approximately $100 per strap
  • Crystal: Plastic crystal free from any major marks or scuffs.
  • Accessories: This watch comes watch only, it does not include box or papers.
