1969 Rolex 1680 Stainless 7206 – Papers – Mark I – Meters First Red Submariner
Sold out!
Available for sale is an original 1969 Rolex 1680 Red Submariner with a meters first dial. The early meters first dials lasted for a very short time in the late 1960s and are becoming nearly impossible to come across in this condition. This particular piece is very attractive, original Mark I dial with nice golden patina and even has the original riveted bracelet. This dial Mark I dial is scarce and only lasted 2.07-2.2M serial range, to find one this is nice is exceptionally rare. There is also an original receipt from service in 1979, it appears from the cost that it was nothing cosmetic replaced but rather something internal. It also comes with a several page letter from Rolex asking the customer to bring the watch back for service, very funny Rolex trying to rake in a little extra money for a service!! The serial number on this watch begins with 21861xx dating this watch to early 1969.
