Offered here is a remarkable 1961 Omega Genève, reference 14785, affectionately known by collectors as the "Golden Eye" for its spectacular engraved aesthetic. This extraordinary example features an intricately textured gold dial paired with a beautifully engraved matching bezel, creating a captivating play of light and texture unlike almost any other vintage Omega. The finely detailed geometric engraving across both the dial and bezel showcases the artistry of Omega's early 1960s design, while the applied faceted hour markers provide an elegant contrast against the richly decorated surface. Adding to its desirability, this watch features a double-signed Türler dial, a highly sought after detail that significantly enhances its rarity. The movement has recently been professionally serviced by our watchmaker and is powered by the dependable Omega Caliber 600, a movement celebrated for its reliability, simplicity, and ease of maintenance.
Founded in Zurich in 1888, Türler was one of Switzerland's most prestigious watch and jewelry retailers, renowned for commissioning specially signed dials from elite manufacturers including Omega, Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Vacheron Constantin. Double-signed examples retailed through Türler were produced in relatively small numbers and are prized today for their exclusivity and historical significance.
Although measuring a modest 32mm, the Golden Eye wears beautifully on the wrist. Its expansive engraved bezel and well balanced proportions give it a much greater presence than the dimensions suggest, making it the perfect size for a true vintage dress watch while retaining an elegant and refined profile. With its stunning engraved case and dial, rare double signed Türler signature, freshly serviced Caliber 600 movement, and exceptional mid-century styling, this 1961 Omega Golden Eye ref. 14785 is a wonderful opportunity to acquire one of Omega's most artistic and collectible vintage timepieces.
