For the collector who appreciates substance as much as style, this extraordinary 1970 Omega Speedmaster Professional BA145.022 offers far more than the allure of solid 18k yellow gold, it represents one of the most significant milestones in both space exploration and watchmaking. Produced as part of an exclusive run of just 1,014 examples created in 1969 to commemorate the Apollo 11 Moon landing, this reference occupies a special place in Omega's history as the first Speedmaster ever crafted in gold. Its warm gold case, matching bracelet and champagne dial, creating a look that is simultaneously sophisticated, confident, and unmistakably iconic.
While its design exudes effortless elegance on the wrist, the story behind this watch is what truly sets it apart. The Speedmaster earned its legendary status as the chronograph qualified by NASA for all manned space missions, and this commemorative edition celebrates humanity's first steps on the Moon. Owning this reference is like owning a piece of NASA history and horological history at once, a tangible connection to one of mankind's greatest achievements and to one of the most celebrated chronographs ever created. It is a watch that transcends fashion, embodying innovation, courage, and timeless craftsmanship.
Whether worn as a daily statement or reserved for life's most memorable occasions, the BA145.022 possesses a rare versatility. Its precious metal construction lends undeniable luxury, while its storied provenance gives it depth and character that few vintage watches can match. For the discerning female collector, it is an opportunity to own a watch that is not only exceptionally rare and historically important, but also beautifully wearable, a timeless heirloom whose significance will continue to resonate for generations.
