Available for sale is an original 1680 Rolex 'Red Submariner' given its name for the red writing on the dial. This is a nice original example with an attractive dial with nice original patina. It is an iconic design The serial number on this watch begins with 3268xxx dating this watch to the 3rd quarter of 1971.
Case: 40 mm stainless steel case showing signs of previous wear. There are no major distractions though we decided to keep it unpolished to allow the buyer to decide if they would like to polish or not.
Bezel: Original black inner bezel which has faded to a greyish shade. The stainless other ring is crisp given its age
Dial/Hands: Original Rolex black 'Red Submariner' dial with attractive patina, there are no distractions to mention, just a nice original and untouched dial. Hands are as attractive patina.
Movement: Rolex 1570 automatic movement. It has been serviced by our watchmaker and is currently running 11 seconds per day.
Caseback: Dating III.71 which dates from the third quarter of 1971. There is also a neat caseback engraving 'For a Great Friend, Carlos 1979'. I wish I had friends like this! - If you would like we can have the caseback engraving removed though we recommend keeping it, it reminds us that all vintage watches have their own story to tell.
Bracelet/Strap: Stainless Steel 9315 bracelet showing signs of previous wear. There are no major distractions, it his stretch as seen in the photos and will fit an 7.8 inch wrist
Crystal: Original acrylic with a several marks, we decided to keep it original.
Accessories: This watch comes watch only. It does not come with original box or papers
